The Vault is an intimate performance space framed by a beautiful stone archway, providing the atmosphere of a traditional proscenium stage. The Vault is ideal for new writing, small cast musicals, sketch, stand-up and improvised comedy as well as solo performances.

Black drapes are used to create a cross over behind the performance area.

The Vault has wing spaces on both sides of the stage.

Access to The Vault
The audience enters Paradise in the Vault from Merchant Street, with the box office located on street level. 3 steps or a lift provide access to the upper foyer, with snack bar and toilets on this level. The Vault is located immediately off the upper foyer, with one row of seats on the same level. A shallow rake provides additional seating. Unfortunately, our dressing rooms are not wheelchair accessible.
Technical Specifications
Lighting
650W fresnels make up the general cover. There is an LED colour wash comprising 4 LED Pars.
3 Source4 Jr Zoom fixtures are available for spotlights or gobo effects. There are additional
LED PARs providing side and back-lighting.
Control is an ETC Colorsource 20.
2025 Lighting Plan
Sound
A PA with an 8-channel mixer is available for your use. There is a 3.5mm input available at the technical desk in the stage left wing. A SM58 microphone and stand are provided. Radio mics can be provided at an extra cost.
Projection
1920 x 1080p on the back tab or a motorised 2.5m wide screen. QLab 5 is available in-house, and a HDMI connection is available at the technical desk for other devices. We recommend using QLab for all video playback.
QLab
QLab 5 on a Mac Mini is available for playback of sound and projection from the technical desk.
Storage
Storage space is shared with all shows performing in the Vault within the stage right wing room containing shelving and floor space for some set and props. This area will not be accessible outside of a show’s performance slot.
