The Studio
Located in the lower level of Paradise in Augustines, The Studio offers a versatile, flexible space. It features a beautiful wide stage with additional depth provided through the alcoves at the back of the stage. The Studio is suitable for a wide variety of genres and shows including large cast dramas, children’s shows, comedy, musicals and shows with audience participation.

This space does not feature a cross over behind the back of the performance area. However,
the black drapes can be used to partition the alcoves at the back from the rest of the stage
which can create a cross over on stage, though it is not accessible from the backstage areas.

Access to The Studio
Access to Paradise in Augustines is via three shallow steps or a ramp is available upon request. Once inside, access is via a wheelchair platform lift (weight limit of 400kg) or a single width staircase, with space for wheelchairs towards the middle of the auditorium. There is a single row with level access, with further seating accessed via a raked centre aisle. Unfortunately, our dressing rooms are not wheelchair accessible.
Technical Specifications
Lighting
General cover is provided by a full-colour LED profiles, with side and back light provided by
LED pars.
Two moving profiles allow creating shuttered specials without needing to rely on generics.
Control is an ETC Ion.
2025 Lighting Plan
Sound
A 2 speaker PA + sub is available as standard.
A Behringer X32 digital mixer is provided for control.
2 SM58 microphones are provided, and a 8-channel multicore can be used on stage for
live audio. Additional foldback speakers are available for use on stage.
Radio mics can be provided at an extra cost.
Projection
Two projectors are hung from the grid and focused on the projector screens hung from the mid stage tab, mirrored one per side (1920x1080p each). QLab 5 is available in-house, and a HDMI connection is available at the technical desk for other devices. We recommend using QLab for all video playback.
QLab
QLab 5 on a Mac Mini is available for playback of sound and projection from the technical desk.
Storage
Each show is allocated a designated storage area of roughly 1.5m x 1.5m in the stage left wing room within the space for sets, props and costumes. This area will not be accessible outside of a show’s performance slot.
